The migratory pattern of school kids in my neighborhood has begun anew. Those spanking new back-to-school shoes sported by the kids who cut through my backyard to the bus stop have begun to leave their mark on my late-summer grass...to be followed soon enough by a trail through fallen leaves, and a footstep path through frost and snow. This morning, jealously-eying those plump new backpacks like a French housewife eyes a market chicken, I found myself longing for the scent that is unique to September texts. Being wont of all self-control, I went out and bought a book...
The book itself, in this very rare case, is not important. Today, I took my official first breathless step into this "new year" of reading. Today, we're celebrating the "new year" with great books. Check out our new Books for Book Groups, and a few new features, and let us know what you're reading!
In the spirit of new year celebrations, I invite you to join us in a celebrationof our own... details below... at the first ever LM Dinner Club, where we'll toast a new and exciting year of books and reading in the company of good friends, and a seasonally-inspired dinner. See you there!
